I was born in Russia, came to New Zealand and was blown away by how beautiful it is — I knew quickly that I never wanted to leave. I've spent eight years finding fraud and abuse in large, messy datasets with SQL and Python, and I still love digging through data. Outside work I play tennis and squash, and build small apps that make people's lives a little easier.
What I do
- Write SQL queries and Python scripts every day to pull user data out of activity logs.
- Check, clean and summarise data in Excel, and keep case records and reports up to date.
- Spot the patterns that point to fraud, spam and abuse, and turn them into action fast.
- Automate the repetitive parts of an investigation with Python, so the time goes to the interesting problems.
- Build Chrome extensions and browser-console scripts that speed up my work and everyday tasks.
- Work with databases and cloud storage in my own projects.
- Use AI tools to make everyday work and life simpler.
